Story Time :)

Ugh, I know it's been forever since I've blogged...I just haven't had a whole lot going on. This weekend was pretty full though, so it's time to catch up! I meant to post this on Monday, sorry it's Wednesday and I'm still talking about last weekend haha.

Friday night I went on a merry adventure with my friend Abe in his little old yellow truck. The plan was to leave from work, go to his roommate's older brother's wedding reception in Lehi, then go to our mutual friend Hugh's play in Draper.

What actually happened: We left on time from my work, all dressed up and lookin' fly. We made our way to Lehi with the windows rolled down (no AC in the lovely yellow truck) so my hair was a disaster, but that was easily fixed (and in Abe's words, "looked hot ;)"). Once in Lehi, we found where the wedding reception should be...in the middle of an intersection. At this point, we realized we were in the wrong place, so we called his roommate and found out we were supposed to be in Pleasant Grove, about 30 miles back the way we'd come. Perfect. So off we went, back to Pleasant Grove. We ended up being perfectly on time, and we actually would have been awkwardly early had we not gotten lost. The reception was beautiful, very springy and lush. Even though I didn't know anyone, everyone was friendly and probably thought Abe and I were dating, which is far from true, but it was fun :) After about half an hour at the reception we headed off to Draper to find the play.
Abe assured me that he had looked up the address and directions for the play and was positive there was no way we could get so hopelessly lost this time. But of course, as fate would have it, we ended up getting totally lost once more!  The address he had took us, not to the Draper Amphitheater, but to City Hall. We looked all around there and couldn't find the amphitheater. My brother's house was only a few blocks from where we were so we decided to go there and ask for directions/use a computer. It was such an unexpected, pleasant surprise to get to drop on on Russ, Kindee and the kids, and they were very helpful. My nephew is crawling now!! And Lucy has gotten so big. Boy I love those kids. And BONUS of the trip: Kindee had 2 huge garbage bags full of hand-me-downs for me to go through, so we threw those in the bed of the truck and waved goodbye. With the help of Russ and his computer we finally had the right directions and made it to the amphitheater still with a few minutes to spare before the show started, so it was perfect timing once again! The production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was wonderful, the whole cast was great. There was so much color, and even though the play itself is dumb, the music was great and you could tell they were having a blast. On our way home we got to play on a kind of modern art playground which was really fun! Overall, a fantastic adventurous Friday night with Abe!

Saturday morning my bathroom flooded from the shower in the apartment above us, which apparently was "repaired" the day before, triggering the flooding. So most of my day was taken up with cleaning up water and making emergency phone calls to the management. Fun fun fun.

Sunday was very chill--I got to lay out on a blanket at the end of the day and read a book and fall asleep in the dying light. That was just beautiful.

And now I'm off to Idaho for the weekend with my whole family!! I'm so excited :) see you all in a few days!
