Re-dyed, Redecorated, Revived

Today I re-dyed my hair so it is all perfect and even and red again :) I couldn't love it more if I tried. It's gotten so long...thinking about cutting it, but not sure if I'm brave enough. But hey, after dying it, I guess I'm brave enough to do anything to it! So that's new.
Also, I've been feeling creative all day (must be the fresh dye going to my head haha) so I went to the bookstore on campus and bought the calendar I've been wanting that was finally on sale!! It's a calendar of John Waterhouse paintings, and he happens to be one of my favorite artists of all time. Here are some paintings of his that you might recognize:

I've been looking for more art to put on my walls since I have a lot more wall space in this apartment, and this calendar was the perfect find!! So I promptly cut it up and have spent the last several hours rearranging the art on my walls. My room is now adorned with beautiful women, lush landscapes, and oriental fans and masks. I love redecorating; it gives a feeling of freshness and change, which is something I really need sometimes. I took down my dance pictures to make room for the Waterhouse paintings, which was kind of a big deal because I've been very attached to those. But I'm seeing it as a new phase for me, that I get to be surrounded by beautifully painted women, all with colorful, intriguing stories. I'm looking for new creative inspiration from these paintings, and I have felt the energy in my room change already.
Everything's new and beautiful :)

New Creation

I have discovered a new sandwich that I LOVE!! It's white toast with butter, ham, and honey. I know it sounds weird, but it is soooo good. I made it when my best friend Meg was here and I made her try it because she said it sounded gross, and she agreed that it was good! So, if you're feeling adventurous, give it a try! :)

It's Been Too Long

Wow, I haven't blogged in forever. I deeply apologize to any of you that actually follow my blog, if there are any of you haha. In any case, here is a brief update on me :)

I GOT A JOB!!!! That is by far the most exciting thing that has happened in the last month. I now work at the Hinckley Center on campus as the Alumni Services Secretary/Events Coordinator. And yes, it's as official and intimidating as it sounds. I have a name plate and a magnet with my name and the official logo! I have a lovely desk and TWO monitors. How high tech am I? ;) So, a week in, things are wonderful and I couldn't be happier. I do have to get up bloody early in the morning, but I only have to get up at 6 until March and then I can work a little different shift, thank goodness. Yay for more money!!

Also, I love my class schedule this semester!! I dance for at least 2 hours every day and I am desperately sore but getting stronger and my body is alternately hating and loving it. I'm taking History of Dance, Environmental Biology, and Book of Mormon and...ITALIAN! I'm so excited to be learning a new language, especially one I almost completely understand thanks to my slightly vast knowledge of Spanish.

My hair is still red and I still love it (sorry about still not having pics. It would help if I had a camera, but I don't.) I have developed a love of country swing dancing; it's soooo fun. It's all spins and dips and tricks and it's fabulous.

So there's a quick update on my life. Lovin' every minute :)

New Poetry!

Paper Crane

From a square
To a bird

Folded wings
Creased with secrets

Colored paper, poised
For flight

A fragile reflection
Of wasted desires

All written
On paper wings

With never the strength
To carry my heart
